Teaching Assistant

Primary Teaching Assistant – Basingstoke (RG21)
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only
Start Date: September 2025

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school in Basingstoke (RG21) starting in September.

About the role:
You will work under the guidance of the class teacher to provide learning and pastoral support for pupils. Responsibilities include:

• Helping children engage in lessons and understand new concepts

• Running small group activities in literacy and numeracy

• Supporting children with additional needs, including SEN

• Preparing and organising classroom resources

• Encouraging a positive and respectful classroom culture

• Supporting whole-school activities and events as needed

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience supporting children, ideally in a school environment

• Good interpersonal and organisational skills

• A patient and encouraging approach

• An Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
