Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you want to make a real difference in their educational journey? Teaching Personnel is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in the Barnstaple area. This is a full-time role with the opportunity to progress into a permanent position for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support to students with SEN, ensuring their individual learning needs are met
- Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment
- Work closely with the SENCO and other staff to implement and follow individual education plans (IEPs)
- Offer social and emotional support to pupils through one-on-one and small group sessions
- Track and report on student progress, working to ensure each child reaches their potential
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant or similar role is beneficial but not essential
- A genuine passion for working with children with SEN and helping them to succeed
- Patience, understanding, and a caring nature
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
