Learning Support Assistants

Location: Andover, Hampshire
Hours: Monday–Friday | Term Time Only
Pay: £14.25 per hour

We’re looking for caring, positive, and reliable Learning Support Assistants to join specialist schools in the Andover area.

These settings support children and young people with a range of additional needs including autism, complex learning needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a rewarding role where relationships matter. You’ll help pupils feel supported, build confidence, develop independence, and engage positively with school life.

Working alongside teachers and support staff, you’ll support pupils throughout the day both in and out of the classroom through a mixture of 1:1 support, small group work, and practical learning activities.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting pupils with learning, communication, and engagement

  • Building positive relationships and encouraging confidence

  • Helping create a calm, safe, and supportive environment

  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour

  • Working closely with school staff to help pupils succeed

We’d Love to Hear From You If You Have Experience In:

  • Education or childcare

  • Care or support work

  • Youth work or mentoring

  • Sports coaching

  • Residential care

  • Mental health support

  • Customer-facing or people-focused roles

Previous SEN or SEMH experience is helpful but not essential — full training and ongoing support will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
