Teaching Assistant

Cranborne, Dorset
Permanent | Full-Time | Term Time Only
40 hours per week (8:00am–4:30pm, Monday to Friday)
Hourly Rate: £12.87 to £14.03

£1,000 welcome bonus available

The Role

We are looking for caring, reliable individuals to join our team as Teaching Assistants. This is a great opportunity for someone new to education, as no prior experience is required and full training will be provided.

You will support young people with additional needs to engage with learning, develop independence, and build confidence in a safe and supportive environment. The role is varied and may involve working one-to-one with students, supporting small groups, or assisting in the classroom and during off-site activities.

What You’ll Do

  • Support learning, development, and independence
  • Work flexibly across one-to-one and group settings
  • Assist with the delivery of a broad curriculum
  • Encourage positive behaviour and social skills
  • Help monitor progress and maintain accurate records
  • Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures

About You

You don’t need experience, but you do need the right attitude. We’re looking for people who are patient, positive, and committed to supporting young people.

You will need:

  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
  • Level 2 (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • To be aged 21 or over
  • Good communication, literacy, numeracy, and basic ICT skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

 

All appointments are subject to relevant safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
