Teaching Assistant – Breakfast & After School Club Support
Primary School – Accrington
Part-Time | Term Time Only
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly primary school in Accrington from September. This rewarding role combines classroom support with helping to run our Breakfast Club and After School Club, ensuring pupils have a safe, positive and engaging start and end to their school day.
About the Role
You will play a key role in supporting children’s learning and wellbeing by:
- Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and supporting pupils’ progress
- Working with individuals or small groups to support learning needs
- Supervising children during Breakfast Club and After School Club sessions
- Planning and leading fun, stimulating activities such as games, crafts and outdoor play
- Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting a nurturing, inclusive environment
- Ensuring the safety and safeguarding of all pupils at all times
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience working with primary-aged children (school or childcare setting)
- Be caring, patient and enthusiastic with a genuine passion for supporting children
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Be reliable, flexible and able to adapt to a varied role
- Hold (or be working towards) a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 TA or childcare)
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare
Working Hours
- Early mornings for Breakfast Club
- Afternoon sessions for After School Club

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
