Job description

Make an Impact Where It Truly Matters — Every Single Day

Some of the most important moments in a young person’s journey happen in the classroom. A kind word, steady support, or simply someone who believes in them can leave a lasting impression.

We’re currently recruiting enthusiastic and adaptable individuals to join schools across Greater Norwich as Unqualified Teaching Assistants. This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll help pupils grow in confidence, develop key skills, and get the most out of their education.

If you’re reliable, patient, and passionate about helping others succeed, this could be a great opportunity to begin or build your career in education.

The Role

As an Unqualified Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers and school staff to support pupils with a wide range of academic, social, and behavioural needs. Your input will play an essential part in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Supporting pupils with classroom activities and day-to-day learning
  • Assisting with literacy and numeracy development
  • Promoting positive behaviour through consistency and clear expectations
  • Helping to create a safe, structured, and welcoming classroom environment
  • Collaborating with teachers and staff to support pupil progress and wellbeing

Every day is different—offering new challenges, opportunities, and the chance to make a real difference.

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need formal qualifications—we’re more interested in your mindset, reliability, and willingness to learn.

We’re looking for individuals who are:

  • Calm, confident, and dependable
  • Positive role models for young people
  • Flexible and able to adapt to different school settings
  • Strong communicators who work well in a team

Experience in education, care, sports coaching, youth work, or similar roles is helpful, but not essential. What matters most is your enthusiasm for supporting young people.

What You’ll Receive

  • Access to CPD training and ongoing development opportunities
  • A Guaranteed Work Scheme (for eligible applicants), offering pay even on quieter days
  • Competitive weekly pay, with enhanced rates for longer travel or additional hours
  • Simple, easy-to-use online systems for bookings and timesheets
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant throughout your journey

Essential Requirement

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are required, as travel between schools may be needed at short notice.

If you’re looking for a role where you can truly make a difference while gaining valuable classroom experience, we’d love to hear from you.
