Location: Central Northampton
Salary: MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2026 (or sooner by negotiation)

We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of Religious Education to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in central Northampton. About the Role
You will teach Religious Education across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to contribute to Key Stage 5 depending on experience. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons that encourage students to explore diverse beliefs, values, and ethical perspectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality RE lessons that inspire and challenge students of all abilities
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment where all viewpoints are respected
- Assess, monitor, and support student progress effectively
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities
- Support the wider ethos of the school, including pastoral responsibilities
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- A degree in Religious Education or a related subject
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for RE
- Excellent classroom management skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
