Music Teacher
Full-Time | Secondary School | KS3 and KS4
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with an ambitious secondary school to recruit a creative and enthusiastic Music Teacher.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a school that values creativity and provides students with a broad curriculum designed to develop their knowledge, practical skills, confidence and resilience. The school encourages students to experience a wide range of subjects before narrowing their choices at Key Stage 4.

The Music Curriculum
Students follow a varied and engaging Music curriculum that introduces them to different genres, traditions, instruments and technologies.
Across KS3, curriculum areas include:
- Musical notation and instrumental skills
- Chords, riffs and keyboard performance
- Pop, reggae, African and Baroque music
- Orchestra and ensemble skills
- Film and world music
- Songwriting and composition
- Ukulele and samba performance
- GarageBand and music technology
At GCSE, students develop their performance, composition and appraising skills through solo and ensemble work, coursework and examination preparation.
The Role
As a Music Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Develop students’ performance, composition and listening skills
- Teach a combination of practical and theoretical Music
- Use music technology to support learning where appropriate
- Prepare students for GCSE coursework and examinations
- Assess progress and provide constructive feedback
- Adapt teaching for different abilities and additional needs
- Maintain a positive and purposeful classroom environment
- Contribute to performances, clubs and enrichment activities
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Creative Arts faculty
The Ideal Candidate
You will:
- Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Have strong knowledge of the secondary Music curriculum
- Be confident teaching Music across KS3 and KS4
- Have practical experience with instruments, performance or composition
- Understand GCSE Music assessment requirements
- Inspire students with different abilities and musical backgrounds
- Demonstrate effective classroom management
- Be organised, creative and collaborative
- Be committed to safeguarding and student welfare
