Humanities Teacher – Andover
Start Date: September | Full-Time, Permanent
Teaching Personnel is working closely with a forward‑thinking secondary school in Andover, Hampshire, to recruit a Humanities Teacher (History & Geography) for a September start. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and motivated teacher looking to make a real impact within a supportive and ambitious school environment.
This role is ideal for a qualified Humanities Teacher who enjoys delivering engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, building strong relationships with students, and supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
The Role
As a Humanities Teacher, you will:
- Deliver pre‑planned Geography and History lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
- Create a positive, purposeful classroom environment in line with behaviour policies
- Maintain high expectations for learning, progress, and behaviour
- Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and additional learning needs where required
- Assess progress and provide constructive feedback to raise attainment
- Work collaboratively with teaching, pastoral, and support staff to promote inclusion and personal development
The Ideal Humanities Teacher
We are keen to hear from candidates who have:
- Experience teaching secondary‑aged students
- Confidence teaching Humanities (History and/or Geography)
- The ability to adapt teaching styles to support diverse learning needs
- SEN experience or a genuine willingness to support students with additional needs
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- A positive, enthusiastic approach and a commitment to supporting young people
