Location: Leyland

Contract: Full-time

Rate of Pay: From £165 per day

Start Date: September 2026

The Role

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a supportive secondary school in Chorley to appoint a passionate and engaging Geography Teacher to join the school from September.

You will become part of a successful Humanities department, where Geography plays a key role in helping students understand the world, explore global issues and develop strong analytical and enquiry skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Geography across KS3 and KS4, delivering creative and engaging lessons.
  • Differentiate effectively to support and challenge learners of varying abilities.
  • Support students’ GCSE preparation through high‑quality teaching, assessment and feedback.
  • Contribute positively to the ongoing development of the Humanities curriculum.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment in line with the school’s ethos.
  • Take part in fieldwork opportunities, enrichment activities and cross‑curricular learning.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Geography.
  • Confident classroom practitioner with effective behaviour management skills
  • Reflective, proactive and committed to professional development
  • Willing to support and promote the Catholic values of the school community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
