Teacher of English – Basingstoke – January 2026 Start

Full-Time | Secondary | Suitable for Graduates & Experienced Educators

A new opportunity is available for a dedicated Teacher of English to join a thriving secondary setting in Basingstoke from January 2026. Teaching Personnel are supporting the school in appointing an inspiring English specialist who can deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 on a full-time basis.

This position is ideal for both experienced English teachers and graduates with strong subject knowledge who are looking to build a career in secondary education. The school is seeking someone passionate about English, confident in the classroom, and committed to helping students progress.


The Role:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to KS3 and KS4 learners
  • Plan and assess in line with the national curriculum
  • Support students in developing strong literacy, analytical, and writing skills
  • Contribute to the wider English department and school community
  • Maintain strong classroom engagement and uphold behaviour expectations

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified English teacher OR confident graduate English specialist
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students of mixed abilities
  • Good behaviour management and communication skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
