About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and skilled Technology Teacher to join our thriving secondary school. The successful candidate will deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, fostering creativity, problem‑solving, and practical skills in areas such as Design & Technology, Product Design, Engineering, Graphics, or Food Technology.

This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about hands‑on learning, enjoys bringing design concepts to life, and is committed to helping students grow into confident and capable designers and makers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high‑quality Technology lessons across KS3–KS4.
  • Create a stimulating learning environment that encourages innovation and practical exploration.
  • Prepare students for GCSE assessments through effective teaching, feedback, and targeted intervention.
  • Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment, following all health and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with the department to develop curriculum resources and schemes of work.
  • Track, assess, and support student progress, ensuring all learners achieve their potential.
  • Contribute to extracurricular and enrichment opportunities within the Technology department.

What We’re Looking For:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in at least one Technology specialism (e.g., DT, Engineering, Graphics, Food).
  • Ability to inspire and motivate learners of mixed abilities.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A creative, proactive, and reflective teaching approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and school values.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
