Location: Lytham St Annes
Salary: Teacher’s Main Pay Scale (TLR available for suitable candidate)
Contract: Full Time
Start Date: September 2026

About the Role

A secondary school in Lytham (FY8) are seeking to appoint an inspiring and committed Teacher of Computing to join their successful Technology department. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching and support pupils in achieving their full potential academically, personally, and spiritually within a strong Catholic ethos.

The school currently offer AQA Computer Science at Key Stage 4, and the successful candidate will teach Computing across Key Stages 3 and 4. A Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) may be available for an experienced candidate to support leadership within the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Computing lessons across a range of abilities
  • Differentiate effectively to support all learners, including SEND, EAL, and high-attaining pupils
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
  • Contribute to the development of the Technology curriculum and departmental initiatives
  • Support pupils’ personal development and wellbeing, including Form Tutor responsibilities
  • Uphold the Catholic values and ethos of the school
  • Participate fully in school life, enrichment activities, and professional development

About You

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree
  • Has experience teaching Computing at KS3 and KS4
  • Can deliver KS3 Computing as part of a Design Technology carousel and KS4 Computer Science
  • Demonstrates a commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour
  • Works collaboratively and contributes positively to a team environment
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people

Desirable:

  • Experience in a Catholic school or willingness to support its ethos
  • Proven track record of raising attainment
  • Interest in extracurricular activities or vocational ICT pathways
