Teaching Personnel are working with a thriving secondary school in Basingstoke seeking a passionate, innovative and highly skilled Teacher of Business Studies, with the opportunity to step into a Subject Leader role for the right candidate. This is a full‑time position starting September, ideal for an experienced teacher with strong behaviour management and a drive to raise achievement across a popular and high‑performing subject area.


About the Role

Business Studies is one of the most in‑demand subjects within the school, and the department is looking for a teacher who can bring learning to life through engaging, relevant and academically rigorous lessons. As Subject Leader, you will help shape curriculum development, support colleagues and contribute to raising standards across KS3–KS4 (and KS5 where applicable).

  • Reflect on practice, explore new approaches and support departmental improvement
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff and parents
  • Collaborate with cross‑curricular teams to enhance teaching and learning

Ideal Candidate

You will be:

  • An experienced Business Studies teacher with strong classroom practice
  • Skilled in behaviour management and creating purposeful, calm learning environments
  • Passionate about helping young people understand the real‑world relevance of Business
  • Confident in curriculum planning, lesson design and assessment for learning
  • Ambitious, reflective and open to trying new approaches
  • A strong communicator who builds trust with staff and students
  • Able to teach IT or Computing at KS3 (advantageous but not essential)
  • Committed to continuous professional development and leadership growth

This role is suitable for experienced teachers ready to take on additional responsibility and influence whole‑department practice.
