Teacher of Art and Photography
Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)


About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and creative Teacher of Art and Photography to join a vibrant and supportive secondary school in Northampton. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5 for a suitably experienced candidate.

The successful applicant will have a strong subject knowledge in both Art and Photography, and a commitment to nurturing creativity, experimentation, and independent thinking in students of all abilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in Art and Photography
  • Inspire students to develop their creative, technical, and analytical skills
  • Assess, monitor, and support student progress in line with school policies
  • Contribute to the development of the Art and Photography curriculum
  • Support extracurricular activities, including clubs, exhibitions, and trips
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment


The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in Art, Photography, or a related subject
  • Experience teaching Art and/or Photography at secondary level
  • A strong understanding of current curriculum and assessment requirements
  • The ability to motivate and engage students of varying abilities
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
