Full-Time Teacher – SEMH School
Location: Wirral
Contract: Full-Time
We are seeking a dedicated, resilient, and compassionate Full-Time Teacher to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in the Wirral area.
This highly specialised provision supports 15 pupils, all of whom have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and present with complex social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The role requires a committed teacher who can confidently manage challenging behaviour while building positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
The Role:
As a Teacher in this SEMH setting, you will:
- Deliver engaging, personalised learning tailored to individual needs and abilities
- Create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using consistent, trauma-informed approaches
- Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and external professionals
- Support pupils’ academic progress, emotional regulation, and social development
About You:
We are looking for a teacher who:
- Has previous experience in SEMH, alternative provision, or a specialist SEND setting
- Demonstrates excellent behaviour management and emotional resilience
- Is flexible, creative, and adaptable in lesson planning and delivery
- Communicates effectively with pupils, colleagues, and outside agencies
- Is passionate about making a positive impact on young people with complex needs
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
- Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
