Location: Dudley

Hours: Full Time Monday to Friday (8:30am to 15:30pm)

Contract: Temporary (opportunity to go permanent)

 

Are you a support worker looking to transition into the education sector?

Teaching Personnel are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers who are eager to transition into the role of a Teaching Assistant. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with experience in supporting individuals with severe medical needs and physical disabilities to further their career in education. The specialist SEN school is situated in Dudley,  ther are committed to providing holistic support and education for students aged 4 - 19 with severe, complex medical needs and physical disabilities. This is a full time position from Monday to Friday (8:30am to 15:30pm).

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist in the implementation of personalized educational plans for students with severe medical needs and physical disabilities.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students, aiding in their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to create inclusive learning environments that cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere within the classroom, promoting independence and self-confidence among students.
  • Administer personal care and medical support as required, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior, and communicate effectively with parents and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Support Worker with individuals who have severe medical needs and physical disabilities is essential.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and young adults, coupled with a desire to make a positive impact on their lives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in dealing with challenging situations and behaviors.
  • Willingness to undergo training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
