Supply Teaching Supervisors

This vacancy has now expired.

Job description

We are looking to recruit Cover Supervisors in the Macclesfield area to support a range of Good and Outstanding schools in the absence of their regular classroom teachers. This is an ideal role for those who are considering a career in education and want to gain valuable classroom experience, or for those wanting flexible, competitively paid work that fits around their schedule.

The role of a Cover Supervisor involves delivering pre-set work to classes of up to 30 pupils in line with school policies and there are no expectations of undertaking planning, marking or extra-curricular involvement. It is a role that is both stimulating and highly rewarding, as you will be making a genuine difference to the lives of young people and ensuring their education is allowed to continue seamlessly in the absence of their regular teacher.

Criteria:

  • Must have a DBS on the Update service/willingness to apply for one
  • Experience working with young people, e.g. in a youth group, camp or school setting is desirable
  • Need to be resilient and organised
  • A sense of humour is essential
  • Must be able to get to schools in around the Macclesfield area

Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor would be a bonus; however it is not necessarily required, provided you have a passion for education and working with young people. You should also be confident in your ability to control a classroom and ensure all safeguarding and behaviour policies are followed.

This would be an excellent opportunity for any recent graduates who are seeking experience in a secondary school setting and would like to gain classroom based skills as a Cover Supervisor before enrolling on their PGCE or similar Teacher Training Programme. We would also like to hear from you if you have similar transferable experience in which you have supported young people, such as those who have worked as a Teaching Assistant or who have run Youth Clubs/ worked in Youth Work.

If you are interested in becoming a Cover Supervisor, please upload your most recent CV for consideration.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
