Substitute Teacher

Start: ASAP, flexible/adhoc work

School hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

Salary: £100 - £130 per day (depending on experience)

 

Teaching Personnel work in partnership with an 11-18 coeducational secondary school and Sixth Form with an academy status, graded ‘GOOD’, with ‘OUTSTANDING’ Sixth Form during Ofsted’s most recent visit. 

Now we are heading into the new academic year of 2023/24, the school are working with Teaching Personnel to secure substitute teachers, who are keen to work with the school on a flexible adhoc basis. The main purpose of this role is to supervise groups of students during the short-term absence of the regular class teacher, to ensure that students carry out a pre-prepared lesson, maintain good order and to keep students on task, responding to questions and generally assisting students to undertake set activities.

Whether you are seeking one day of work a week or five, we can offer you flexibility based around your availability with work at this school, as well as other local schools between Portsmouth/Gosport and surrounding areas.  We also offer a guaranteed pay scheme where we will guarantee you pay for certain number of days a week even if you do not work.

The ideal candidate will be confident in managing behaviour, have a sense of humour and the ability to develop strong relationships with pupils.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
