Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a recent Psychology Graduate to join one of our client schools in Manchester as a Teaching Assistant.

If yes, this is the ideal position for you. For a Psychology graduate who has had module focuses on developmental psychology or looking into Autism or ADHD in detail, this position would be ideal to apply the theory that you have learnt into a classroom, whilst supporting young people.

The salary for this position will be between £385 and £450 per week.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring that the pupils who require additional learning support due to conditions such as Autism or enhanced behaviour management due to ADHD are understanding the lessons that are being provided. It is crucial that you will be able to manage the behaviour of young people with special needs, to help maintain a focus on their studies. Many of the pupils that you will be working with will have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), you will be assisting them with these.

For this position you should be able to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check. Two references should be provided, more may be required to cover the previous two years of your work history.

This school is performing very well academically, the number of pupils who are achieving a grade 5 or higher in both maths and English is 10% higher than the local average. 14% of the school’s student population require additional SEN support, 2.08% of these pupils have EHCPs. The school is in the East of Manchester, it is easy to commute to from the surrounding areas of Gorton, Droylsden and Openshaw.
