If you answered yes, then this job opportunity for an SEN(D) Supply Teacher may be for you!

An SEN/PRU Primary and Secondary School in Yeovil is seeking a dedicated Supply Teacher.

 

The Role:

You will be responsible delivering pre-planned, mixed curriculum lessons across Primary and Secondary level students!

These students are ranging in the ages 7-16 years old (KS2, KS3 and KS4), with various SEN and behavioural difficulties. This is a Pupil Referral Unit school setting, meaning students may have difficulties with:

  • Communication and interaction
  • Cognition and learning
  • Social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH)
  • Sensory or physical needs
  • General behavioural difficulties

This school provides education for children and young people who are unable to attend mainstream school. This includes pupils at risk of exclusion or pupils that have been permanently excluded, as well as those suffering from mental health needs.

It is believed by those in the school that each pupil has individual and unique needs, with an aim to provide as much support as needed to allow pupils to reach their full potential by providing the best possible learning conditions for everyone.

 

Who We Are Looking For:

  • PGCE / QTS
  • Ability to deliver mixed curriculum lessons
  • A caring, patient, and resilient individual with a compassionate approach to supporting young people
  • SEN(D) / SEMH experience in or out of an educational setting
  • Able to collaborate with other teachers and support staff
  • Understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
  • Able to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and safely

 

Working Hours/Benefits:

  • Full Time, Part Time and Flexible availability applicants will be considered for this role
  • Monday – Friday = 08:30 – 16:30
  • Access to over 10 SEN training courses which are free of charge, plus plenty more with a generous discount!
  • 12.07% Holiday Pay
  • Please note, this role is Term-Time Only

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
