About the Role

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting enthusiastic and adaptable Supply Teachers to work in primary schools in and around the Washington area. We have a range of full-time and part-time opportunities available, offering flexibility to suit your availability and career goals.

Supply roles may be short-term, long-term or ongoing, covering EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced teachers, ECTs, or those looking for a better work-life balance while continuing to make a positive impact in education.


Job Description

As a Supply Teacher, you will step into the classroom to deliver pre-planned lessons, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure continuity of learning in the absence of the class teacher. You will play a key role in maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, pre-prepared lessons across the primary curriculum
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Ensure pupils remain focused, safe and supported throughout the day
  • Adapt teaching styles to meet the needs of different learners
  • Provide feedback to school staff at the end of the day
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times

Requirements for the Role

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching in EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Flexible, reliable and confident approach to teaching
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments
  • Good understanding of the primary curriculum
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Teaching Personnel)
