This specialist setting supports pupils from trauma backgrounds who need consistency, understanding and strong role models. The school has established, structured methods for behaviour regulation and emotional support — and now they’re looking for someone who can bring energy, resilience and the power of sport into that framework.

The Role
- Use sport and physical activity as a tool for engagement and behaviour support
- Reinforce the school’s behaviour regulation strategies through structured activity
- Build strong, consistent and trusted relationships
- Support emotional regulation through movement, routine and clear boundaries
- Promote teamwork, discipline, resilience and self-worth
- Work closely with pastoral and teaching teams
Ideal Background
- Sports coaching, PE, youth work or mentoring experience
- Experience supporting children or young people from trauma backgrounds
- Trauma-informed approach — understands attachment, triggers and de-escalation strategies
- Confident, calm and emotionally intelligent
- Resilient with strong boundaries and a nurturing, relational style
- Team Teach (desirable but not essential)
✅ Requirements
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
- 24 months’ worth of professional references
- Full UK driving licence preferred
