A school in Tameside is looking a appoint a Sports Teaching Assistant to join the team in September 2021.
Requirements for this role are as follows:
- A Sports based degree (Sports and Exercise Science, Sports Coaching, Sports Management, Sports Performance etc)
- Prior experience delivering a minimum of 2 sports to secondary school children.
- Sports Coaching Qualifications (e.g Level 2 in Coaching Football)
- Ability to engage large groups of children, confidence in managing behaviour when required.
The school has outstanding Sports facilities, and prides itself on its wide sporting curriculum. The required applicant will be required to deliver sessions across lunchtimes, after school as well as supporting full time members of the PE teaching team. The sports that the applicant will be required to deliver will include Football, Rugby, Athletics, Cricket, Tennis as well as multi sport activities.
The applicant will be expected to support students with SEN, to ensure that they are able to access sessions with ease. This also applies to students who display challenging behaviour – regular communication with PE teaching staff will be crucial in identifying students who need further support.
Pay for this role will be between GBP10 and GBP15 per hour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
