Secondary Alternative Provision – Blackburn with Darwen
Full-Time | Long-Term Role | ASAP Start
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour
Our education agency is currently recruiting for a Sports Coach to work full-time within a Secondary Alternative Provision setting in Blackburn with Darwen. This is a long-term opportunity with an immediate start available.
This role is ideal for a sports coach who is passionate about using physical activity to re-engage students with their learning. Alongside delivering sports-based sessions, the role will also include an element of general Teaching Assistant support across the provision.
The Role:

Use a sports background to motivate and re-engage disengaged secondary-aged students

Support the delivery of sports and physical activity sessions

Provide in-class Teaching Assistant support across a range of subjects

Build positive relationships with students who may present challenging behaviour
-
Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development
-
Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff
Requirements:
-
Experience working with secondary-aged young people
-
Background in sports coaching, physical education, or similar

Confident supporting behaviour and engagement in an alternative provision setting

Patient, resilient, and able to build strong rapport with students

Willingness to support learning across the wider curriculum

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
