Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) – Northampton

The Role: What You’ll Be Doing

You will play a vital role in transforming the lives of children and young people with diverse communication needs, including autism, speech/language delays, and complex learning difficulties. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Assessment & Planning: Assessing students' communication needs and implementing tailored individual therapy plans.
  • Intervention Delivery: Delivering engaging 1:1 and small group therapy sessions.
  • Collaboration: Working hand-in-hand with teachers and teaching assistants to integrate communication strategies into the classroom.
  • Tracking Progress: Monitoring student development, contributing to EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans), and conducting annual reviews.
  • Partnership: Liaising directly with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure holistic support.

About You

  • Qualifications: A recognized degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Registration: Valid registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Experience: Experience working with children or young people with SEND is highly desirable.
  • Expertise: A strong understanding of communication needs, including ASD and speech/language disorders.
  • Mindset: An adaptable, empathetic approach with excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
