Specialist Teaching Assistant

We are working in partnership with a highly regarded specialist education setting in Poole that is recognised for its inclusive ethos, outstanding pastoral support, and strong focus on preparing young people with complex needs for adulthood.

The Role

• Full-time Specialist Teaching Assistant position

• Supporting students aged 14–18 with severe and complex SEN needs

• Working hours: 8.30am to 4pm

• Supporting learning, communication, independence, and daily routines

• Secondary-level provision available

• Immediate start for the right candidate

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months’ childcare experience, particularly supporting children or young people with SEN

• Experience with severe or complex needs is highly desirable

• A patient, proactive and supportive approach

• Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with learners

• Must be able to drive due to the location of the setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
