Specialist Teaching Assistant

Are you an experienced Specialist Teaching Assistant seeking a full-time, rewarding role supporting older learners? We are recruiting for a highly regarded education setting in the Bournemouth area, working with students aged 16 to 18.

The Learners You Will Support

You will be supporting young people with:

• Complex learning and communication needs

• Social, emotional and behavioural challenges

• Additional needs requiring personalised and structured support

Secondary and post-16 experience is available within this role.

The Role

• Full-time Specialist Teaching Assistant

• Immediate start

• Working hours: 8.30am to 4.30pm (some weekday finish times may vary)

• Supporting learners aged 16 to 18

• 1:1 and small group support

• Assisting with learning, independence and emotional regulation

• Working closely with teaching and support staff

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 6 months childcare experience, particularly supporting children or young people with SEN

• Calm, patient and resilient approach

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Must be able to drive due to the location of the setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
