Specialist Teaching Assistant
Job description
Are you an experienced Specialist Teaching Assistant seeking a full-time, rewarding role supporting older learners? We are recruiting for a highly regarded education setting in the Bournemouth area, working with students aged 16 to 18.
This is a full-time position with an immediate start, offering consistency, strong staff support and the chance to make a meaningful impact during a crucial stage of young people’s development.
This specialist provision is recognised for its calm, structured and nurturing environment. The focus is on personal growth, independence and preparation for adulthood. The Learners You Will Support
You will be supporting young people with:

Complex learning and communication needs

Social, emotional and behavioural challenges

Additional needs requiring personalised and structured support
Secondary and post-16 experience is available within this role.
The Role

Full-time Specialist Teaching Assistant
-
Immediate start
-
Working hours: 8.30am to 4.30pm (some weekday finish times may vary)
-
Supporting learners aged 16 to 18
-
1:1 and small group support
-
Assisting with learning, independence and emotional regulation
-
Working closely with teaching and support staff
Essential Requirements
-
Minimum 6 months childcare experience, particularly supporting children or young people with SEN
-
Calm, patient and resilient approach
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
Must be able to drive due to the location of the setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
