We are recruiting a skilled and compassionate Specialist Teaching Assistant to support young people with Special Educational Needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition. This is a full-time role with an immediate start, working with learners aged 16 to 18 across a supportive post-16 setting. Working hours are 8.30am to 3pm, Monday to Friday.
You will be joining a modern, well-resourced and highly supportive education environment that is widely recognised for its person-centred approach. The setting places strong emphasis on independence, life skills and emotional wellbeing, helping young people prepare confidently for adulthood. Staff are valued, teamwork is central and professional development is actively encouraged.

Your Role
-
Providing tailored classroom and 1:1 support

Supporting engagement, communication and independence

Assisting with structured learning and life-skills activities

Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation

Working closely with teachers and specialist staff
Experience Required
-
A minimum of 6 months childcare experience, particularly supporting young people with SEN or ASD

A calm, patient and proactive approach
-
Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
