SENH Teaching Assistant – Year 4 (1:1)

£90 – £100 per day (dependent on experience)
A supportive and inclusive primary school in Bedford is seeking an experienced SENH Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 4. This long-term role runs through to the end of the summer term and is focused on building trust, consistency, and emotional regulation for the pupil.
This role would suit someone who is patient, emotionally resilient, and confident supporting pupils with SENH needs within a Key Stage 2 setting. You’ll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies and provide a stable, reassuring presence throughout the school day.
Responsibilities:
• Provide consistent 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with SENH needs
• Support emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement with learning
• Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and behaviour support plans
• Build a trusting, positive relationship with the pupil
• Work closely with teaching staff and SENCO to monitor progress
Requirements:
• Proven experience working with SENH pupils (essential)
• Experience supporting pupils in Key Stage 2 (essential)
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Ability to provide consistency and structure
• A genuine commitment to supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
