SENDCo – Head of SEN Department

Location: Northampton, NN1 2BG
Salary: Pay to Scale
Hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm
Contract: Permanent | Full-Time
Requirement: Full UK Driving Licence & Own Vehicle Essential

Are you an experienced SEND professional ready to lead with purpose and make a lasting impact?

We are seeking a passionate and driven SENDCo to join a specialist Secondary SEN & Alternative Provision setting in Northampton. This is a rewarding leadership opportunity to shape SEND provision, champion inclusive education, and support young people with SEN, SEMH, and additional needs to thrive both academically and personally.

The Role

  • Lead and oversee SEND provision across the school
  • Support students with SEN, SEMH, and EHCPs
  • Work collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals
  • Drive positive behaviour, wellbeing, and student progress
  • Support and guide staff with effective inclusive strategies

What We’re Looking For

  • QTS and experience within SEN or Alternative Provision
  • NASENCO qualification or willingness to achieve it
  • Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills
  • Passionate, resilient, and student-centred approach
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
