SENDco – North Somerset

Teaching Personnel is delighted to be recruiting an inspirational and dedicated SENDCo to join a warm, welcoming, and community‑focused school in North Somerset from mid-April. This part-time role (0.4) will be based across two schools, with potential for the number of days to increase depending on school needs.

We are seeking a passionate professional who is committed to ensuring that every child, especially those with additional needs, receives the support, encouragement, and tailored provision they deserve. The successful candidate will be someone who champions inclusion, advocates strongly for vulnerable learners, and brings the expertise needed to drive high-quality SEND practice throughout the school.

In this role, you will work closely with staff, families, external agencies, and school leaders to help create an engaging, supportive, and inspiring learning environment.

We are looking for a SENDCo who:

  • Is an outstanding practitioner with proven impact in SEND
  • Is innovative, inspirational, and committed to raising achievement for all learners
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills and can lead, motivate, inspire, and support colleagues
  • Builds strong relationships with all stakeholders, particularly parents and carers
  • Has strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation
  • Embraces the school’s ethos and values, with a commitment to community engagement
  • Has SENDCo experience and holds the National Professional Qualification for SENCOs (NPQ SENCO)
  • Works collaboratively and supportively within a hardworking team
  • Can confidently lead, challenge, and motivate both children and staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
