SEND Teaching Assistants & Learning Support Assistants
Job description
SEND Teaching Assistants & Learning Support Assistants | Eastbourne & Surrounding Areas
Good at building relationships, adapting your approach and helping young people feel more confident?
I’m looking to connect with Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants and people with relevant transferable experience around Eastbourne and the surrounding areas.
Whether you already work in SEND or are exploring a move into specialist education, I’d be interested in hearing what you could bring.
What can SEND support involve?
Depending on the setting and pupils, the work can include:
-
Supporting learning within lessons
-
Working individually or with small groups
-
Helping pupils communicate their needs
-
Supporting emotional regulation and engagement
-
Encouraging confidence and independence
-
Working alongside teachers and other professionals
Patience, consistency and appropriate boundaries matter. So does being willing to take guidance and change your approach when something isn’t working.
Could your experience transfer?
Some school requirements call for previous SEND experience. Others may suit applicants from mainstream education, care, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring or tutoring.
Before moving into recruitment, I worked within SEND education myself. I know how useful those transferable skills can be, and how important it is to find a suitable environment.
We’ll discuss your background, availability and preferences so I can consider you for appropriate work as school needs arise.
Pay & practical information
TA and LSA opportunities are paid from £92.60 per day, with access to CPD and professional development.
You’ll need an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service. If you don’t currently hold one, you’ll need to complete an application through our DBS application process and join the Update Service. I’ll provide guidance, with the associated cost covered by the applicant.
We’ll require your full employment and education history and references covering 24 months of employment in total where possible, prioritising recent and relevant employment.
Interested?
Apply and tell me about your experience, the days you’re available and where you can travel.
Let’s discuss your interest in SEND support work around Eastbourne.
