Teaching Personnel is looking for caring, resilient and enthusiastic individuals to work as SEND Teaching Assistants in primary schools across Plymouth, Tavistock, Saltash, Launceston and surrounding areas from September 2026.

The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support, helping them to access learning, build confidence and achieve positive outcomes both academically and socially.
Duties may include:
✅ Supporting children on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
✅ Assisting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs
✅ Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
✅ Supporting emotional regulation and social development
✅ Working alongside teachers and SENCOs to deliver tailored support
✅ Helping create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

- Teaching Assistant work
- SEN support
- Care or support work
- Youth work
- Sports coaching
- Nursery or childcare settings
- Psychology, Education or Health & Social Care graduates

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
