Are you a passionate and caring Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to work across a variety of welcoming primary schools in Liskeard and the surrounding areas. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience across different school settings and year groups while making a real difference to children's educational journeys.

Whether you are an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant, a learning support professional, or someone with relevant childcare or support work experience, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs. Assignments may vary from school to school, giving you the opportunity to develop your skills across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.

You may support pupils with:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Speech and Language Needs
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Learning difficulties and additional educational needs
  • EHCP-supported interventions

No two days are the same, making this a rewarding and varied role for someone who enjoys building positive relationships and helping children achieve their potential.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking individuals who:

  • Have experience working with children or young people
  • Possess knowledge or experience of supporting SEND pupils
  • Are patient, nurturing, and adaptable
  • Can build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Are confident working both one-to-one and within small groups
  • Have a positive attitude and a genuine passion for education

Relevant qualifications are welcomed but not essential if you can demonstrate suitable experience and a strong commitment to supporting children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
