Teaching personnel is excited to welcome passionate and enthusiastic SEN teaching assistants to support several of our primary specialist education settings across Stockport.
We are searching for someone who is committed to making a real difference in the lives of pupils with diverse additional needs, including autism, speech, language and communication needs aged 4 to 11 years old. The role allows you to work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver individualised support that promotes pupils to access learning, be confident and develop essential life skills.
You will be a part of a team dedicated to creating an inclusive, nurturing and trusted environment where each child feels understood, supported and empowered to achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting children in the classroom with continuous provision
- Encouraging good behaviour and keeping the children safe.
- Working closely with the teacher, following individual learning and behaviour plans
- Giving feedback regularly about each child’s progress
- Support with transitions around school and off-site trips
- Personal care and mobility support
Requirements:
- Be available full time
- Have experience working with those with special needs in any setting
- Have knowledge and understanding of different additional needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathetic, patient and nurturing attitude
- Have a proactive personality

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
