Location: Wellingborough & Kettering area

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are currently recruiting dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join welcoming SEND schools across the Wellingborough and Kettering area from September 2026. These permanent, full-time opportunities are ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting primary-aged pupils with communication needs and autism.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils, teachers and the wider support team to provide tailored support that enables children to access learning, develop their communication skills and build confidence.
You may be supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups or within the classroom, helping them to engage with learning and develop their independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting primary-aged pupils with autism and communication needs
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
- Supporting pupils to access the curriculum and participate in school life
- Developing positive relationships with pupils and helping them build confidence
- Using a calm, patient and consistent approach to support behaviour and communication
- Working closely with class teachers, SEND staff and families
- Encouraging pupils’ independence and personal development
About You
We are looking for individuals who are:
- Passionate about supporting children with SEND
- Patient, compassionate and resilient
- Confident working with primary-aged children
- Able to build positive and trusting relationships
- Interested in autism, communication and additional needs
- Experienced in education, care, support work or a similar setting — or keen to develop a career in SEND
Relevant experience is desirable, but a positive attitude, willingness to learn and genuine commitment to supporting children are equally important.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
