SEND Teaching Assistant Job in Darwen
We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring SEND Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Darwen for the Autumn Term 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop important life skills, and build confidence within the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with SEND on a one-to-one and small group basis.
- Assist with personalised learning activities and interventions.
- Promote inclusion and participation in classroom activities.
- Support communication, emotional regulation, and social development.
- Work closely with teaching staff to meet individual pupil needs.
- Contribute to a positive and nurturing learning environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND.
- Experience in education, childcare, youth work, or care settings.
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
- Patient and adaptable approach.
- Commitment to helping every child succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
