Are you a passionate and nurturing SEN Teaching Assistant eager to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people? Our well-respected Local Authority Specialist Secondary School in Crosby is seeking a dedicated individual to join our supportive team. We provide a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for pupils aged 11–16 with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Every pupil has an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP), ensuring their individual needs are understood and supported.
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key part in helping pupils grow academically, socially, and personally. Working closely with teaching and support staff, you will help deliver a curriculum that is accessible, engaging, and tailored to each student. Your day-to-day role will involve a mix of one-to-one work, group support, and assisting with lesson preparation and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalised support to pupils with SEND, helping them overcome barriers and achieve their targets.
- Assist teachers in delivering adapted lessons and learning activities that suit a wide range of needs.
- Create and maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Encourage pupils to build self-confidence, independence, and positive social skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to monitor and review pupil progress.

- Experienced: Previous experience working in a SEN or similar school environment is essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
