SEND Teacher – Autism Specialist (KS3–KS5)
Location: Rushden, Northamptonshire
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time | Permanent/Long-Term
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive educational setting in the Rushden area from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or an ambitious SEND practitioner with a strong commitment to supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
The successful candidate will work with students across Key Stages 3 to 5, delivering engaging and personalised learning experiences that enable every learner to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils with autism.
- Create a positive, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
- Develop and implement individual learning plans and EHCP targets.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, families, and external agencies.
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress effectively.
- Promote students' social, emotional, and communication development.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
- Strong understanding of SEND legislation and inclusive practice.
- Excellent behaviour management and communication skills.
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach.
- Experience working across a range of key stages is desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
