Salary: M1-M6 scale
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and passionate SEND Teacher to join a specialist educational setting in Milton Keynes. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is committed to supporting children and young people with additional learning needs and helping them achieve their full potential.
The school supports pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), learning difficulties, communication needs, and complex behavioural needs. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, personalised education within a supportive and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes progress and independence.
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, parents, and external professionals.
- Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress in line with EHCP outcomes.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies and support emotional wellbeing.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet a diverse range of learning styles and abilities.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching pupils with SEND, either within mainstream or specialist provisions.
- A strong understanding of Autism, communication needs, and personalised learning strategies.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A patient, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting learners with additional needs.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
