SEND Teaching Assistant Required – South Shields
A supportive primary school in South Shields is looking to appoint a dedicated and resilient SEND Teaching Assistant to work within a Year 6 classroom. This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs, including challenging behaviour, helping them to engage positively with learning and achieve their full potential. South Shields
Start Date: ASAP
£90–£110 per day (depending on experience)
The ideal candidate will:
✔ Have experience supporting children with SEND in a primary school setting
✔ Be confident managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies
✔ Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
✔ Support learning on a 1:1 and small group basis
✔ Remain calm, patient, and adaptable in a busy classroom environment
✔ Work effectively alongside the class teacher and SENDCO The school offers:

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
