About the Role

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Trained SEND Teacher to work full-time in a specialist residential education setting in the Torrington area of North Devon. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with a range of complex special educational needs in a highly supportive environment.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, personalised learning tailored to individual EHCP outcomes, helping pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

The Role Includes

  • Teaching primary-aged pupils with complex SEND needs
  • Delivering differentiated and highly personalised learning programmes
  • Supporting pupils with SEMH, autism, and associated learning difficulties
  • Working closely with residential care staff, therapists, and SENCOs
  • Contributing to EHCP targets and progress reviews
  • Creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Primary trained
  • Experience working with children with SEND
  • Strong understanding of autism, SEMH, and complex learning needs
  • Calm, resilient, and adaptable approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable learners
  • Team player with strong communication skills
