Outdoor Learning Support Assistant – Crediton, Devon 

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities through outdoor learning, adventure-based activities, and hands-on experiences? We are looking for caring, resilient, and enthusiastic Outdoor Learning Support Assistants to work closely with pupils in a specialist educational setting in Crediton and the surrounding areas.

This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with additional needs. Whether you already have SEND experience or come from a background in outdoor education, youth work, care, coaching, or support work, we’d love to hear from you.

Role: Outdoor Learning Support Assistant

Pay Rate: £105–£115 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm

As an Outdoor Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 and small group support during outdoor and practical learning activities
  • Encourage participation, confidence, and independence through engaging outdoor experiences
  • Adapt activities to meet individual learning needs and abilities
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social development
  • Help implement EHCPs, behaviour support strategies, and personalised learning approaches in outdoor settings
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to provide consistent, nurturing support
  • Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (desirable but not essential)
  • A passion for outdoor learning, practical education, or adventure-based activities
  • Transferable experience from care, youth work, coaching, support work, or outdoor education
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine desire to support young people to achieve their potential
