Location: NE10, Newcastle
Hours: Monday–Friday | Flexible
Pay: Competitive hourly rate

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Tutor to provide 1:1, face-to-face tuition and educational support to learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the NE10 area.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced educator who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Your Role

As an SEN Tutor, you will deliver tailored learning sessions designed to meet the individual needs of each learner, creating a positive and supportive environment that encourages engagement and progress.

  • Deliver personalised 1:1 tuition across core subjects, including Maths and English where appropriate
  • Adapt teaching strategies to suit individual learning styles and additional needs
  • Support learners with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
  • Build positive relationships that promote confidence, motivation, and independence
  • Monitor learner progress and provide regular feedback
  • Create engaging lessons that inspire participation and achievement

What You Bring

  • Experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs
  • Teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or support experience within education
  • Strong understanding of differentiated learning approaches
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • Patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting learners
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
