We are currently recruiting highly skilled Maths and English tutors to support pupils across the Slough area. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to young people who require tailored, consistent and compassionate educational support.
Many of the pupils we work with have experienced:
✔ Significant gaps in learning
✔ Disrupted or inconsistent education
✔ Low confidence and engagement
✔ Additional needs including SEMH, SEND or anxiety-related barriers
✔ Difficulty accessing mainstream education full-time
Because of this, we are looking for tutors who are not only academically strong, but also patient, adaptable, resilient and nurturing in their approach.
Subjects Required
- Mathematics
- English
Support may be required at both Primary and Secondary level.
The Role
Tutoring sessions will usually take place:
- In the pupil’s home
- Within schools
- In public settings such as libraries
- Online
Tutors should be confident adapting lessons and teaching strategies to meet each pupil’s individual needs, ability levels and learning styles.
This is not a “one size fits all” tutoring role we are looking for professionals who can build trust, re-engage learners and create meaningful progress, both academically and emotionally.
What We’re Looking For

- Qualified Teachers (QTS/QTLS preferred)
- Experienced Tutors
- SEN Specialists
- Intervention Teachers
- Educators with experience supporting vulnerable or disengaged learners
Ideal candidates will have:
✔ Strong subject knowledge in Maths or English
✔ Experience working with Primary and/or Secondary pupils
✔ The ability to differentiate and personalise learning effectively
✔ A calm, empathetic and professional manner
✔ Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
✔ A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Reporting & Communication Expectations
A key part of this role is maintaining clear and professional communication regarding pupil progress.
Tutors will be expected to:
- Complete accurate attendance logs
- Provide detailed session reports
- Track academic progress and engagement
- Communicate concerns, achievements and next steps effectively
- Deliver high-quality updates for schools, parents and commissioning teams
Strong written communication and attention to detail are essential.
Hours Available
We are looking for tutors seeking a minimum commitment of 10–15 hours per week, with opportunities for additional tuition available.
Flexible scheduling available depending on your availability and travel preferences.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
