Experienced Tutor – Didcot
We are looking for committed and experienced tutors in the Didcot area who are ready to take on a role that goes beyond academic teaching.

Who You'll Be Supporting
We receive a high volume of referrals for both primary and secondary-aged pupils, many of whom have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and other complex needs.
Our primary referrals are typically from schools looking for targeted, personalised intervention.
Our secondary referrals often involve students who:
- Are out of school or following reduced timetables
- Have struggled in mainstream education
- Need structured, calm, and consistent support to rebuild their confidence
Whether working with primary or secondary pupils, this role is about helping young people reconnect with learning at a pace that suits them, while providing clear structure and direction.
Availability Requirements
To be considered, you must be able to commit to:
- A minimum of 10–15 hours per week
- Core working hours between 8:30 am and 3:30 pm
- Availability from Monday to Friday
Consistency and reliability are essential, as the pupils we support thrive on routine and predictability.
More Than Just Teaching
Professionalism and communication are key parts of this role.
Tutors will be expected to:
- Accurately record and report attendance
- Monitor and document both academic and emotional progress
- Provide clear, professional feedback that can be shared with schools and other professionals
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding and record-keeping
Your reports may contribute to wider discussions with schools and external agencies, so attention to detail and clear communication are essential.
Your Background
We welcome applications from tutors with experience in:
- Primary or secondary schools, whether mainstream or specialist
- Alternative provision
- Private tuition
- Pastoral or youth-based roles
We're looking for tutors who can demonstrate:
- Strong behaviour management rooted in empathy
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or other complex needs
- Confidence working independently
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Resilience and emotional intelligence

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
