Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them reach their full potential?
We are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work across mainstream primary schools in Burnley, Accrington, Great Harwood and Clitheroe.
With schools receiving additional support and funding for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), we are seeing an increased demand for dedicated staff who can provide tailored support to children with a range of additional needs.
The Roles
Depending on your experience and preferences, opportunities may include:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with an EHCP
- Supporting children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and additional learning needs
- Working within purpose-built SEN units or specialist classrooms attached to mainstream primary schools
- Helping pupils access learning through adapted activities and interventions
- Supporting communication, social interaction, emotional regulation and independence
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team
- Creating a positive, consistent and nurturing learning environment
⭐ We’d Love to Hear From You If You:
- Have experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
- Are patient, resilient and passionate about making a difference
- Can build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Are confident working on a 1:1 basis or within small groups
- Have experience within education, SEND, care, support work or another transferable setting
Previous school-based experience is beneficial, but transferable SEN, care or support experience will also be considered.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
