SEN Teaching Assistants Required – CA17 | Exclusive to Teaching Personnel

Location: CA17
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Until the end of the academic year
Positions Available: Full-Time & Part-Time

Teaching Personnel are proud to be working exclusively with a small, welcoming primary school in CA17, who have approached us directly to support them in appointing two dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants for the remainder of the academic year.

These roles offer a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive school environment and make a meaningful impact on pupils who require additional support.


The Roles Available

Position 1: Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (Year 1)

  • Full-time role (Monday–Friday)
  • Providing 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 1 with additional needs

You will play a key role in supporting early learning development, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the pupil can access the curriculum and thrive within the classroom environment.


Position 2: Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (Year 6)

  • Part-time hours (flexible, to be confirmed)
  • Providing 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 6

This role focuses on supporting a pupil in upper key stage 2, helping to build confidence, engagement, and academic progress as they approach transition into secondary education.


Key Responsibilities (Both Roles):

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 support to pupils with SEN
  • Adapt classroom activities to meet individual learning needs
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and the SENCO
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience working with children, ideally within an SEN or school setting
  • Be patient, nurturing, and resilient
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be proactive and able to use their initiative
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
