Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (RIGGS Unit)
Location: Mainstream School - BH15
Contract: Full-Time (April – End of Academic Year)
We are currently seeking a strong, experienced, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our welcoming mainstream schools, supporting pupils within the RIGGS unit. This is a full-time position starting in June and continuing through to the end of the academic year.
The Role:
You will play a key role in supporting students with special educational needs, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support. The RIGGS unit provides a structured and supportive environment for pupils who require additional behavioural, emotional, and learning support to access the curriculum effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Help maintain a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals
Requirements:
- Proven experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant
- Strong behaviour management skills
- A calm, resilient, and proactive approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Experience supporting children with complex needs is highly desirable
